Peter Thiel's company Palantir wins major Pentagon contract, beating traditional military vendors

The army awarded a contract worth up to $800 million to Peter Thiel-backed data analytics company Palantir. This is Palnatir's first on a "defense program of record," a designation for the most substantial government contracts.
