The plastic industry thinks chemical recycling can help solve our plastic problems, but others disagree

Plastics recycling is failing, and the plastics industry is betting big on a technology called chemical recycling to save it. This tech can supposedly take any type of used plastic and convert it into plastic that's as good as new. But environmental groups express skepticism about its technical and economic feasibility, as well as its carbon footprint, saying we should start with simpler solutions first.
